“PIANO SUBLIMATION – Object | Sound | Graphics — is a collaboration between the Austrian composer and musician JUUN and the visual artist Michael Wegerer. A grand piano by Ehrbar built around 1860, functions as the common starting object, which was then cut into 5 pieces. The piano represents the initial point of departure for a constructive exchange of progressive translations in contemporary graphics, objects and sound.
“Piano Sublimation is an audiovisual collaboration project between the austrian composer and musician JUUN and the visual artist Michael Wegerer. Piano Sublimation combines sound, graphics and sculpture in multidisciplinary installations.
An “Ehrbar- Grand Piano” built around 1860, arises as common starting object, which cut of the piano represents the initial point of departure for an ongoing exchange and progressive translations in contemporary graphics, objects and sound.
This reciprocal dialogue of mutual artistic interventions is part of the work and leads the outcomes as representations of auditory and visual elements. The musical and visual compositions are directly related to the measurements of the original object (grand-piano) and the methods of artistic transposition. The premiere of the final version was part of the Bruckner Festival 2016 in the Bucknerhaus Linz.”
